The grass looks greener on the Three by Three Seattle side

Seattle, WA – February 2, 2008 - Three by Three Seattle is proud to announce a modern environmental makeover to its trade show booths at New York International Gift Fair and Chicago International Housewares Show. New cutting edge collapsible plywood displays combine with bamboo flooring and Eco Spec paint to create a booth friendly to customers and the world as a whole.

Among the innovations are light knock-down booth displays, which cut the carbon footprint of shipping trade show materials by over 50%. “I designed the furniture to keep with our modern aesthetic, but also to be double sided and versatile. Tables to turn into bookshelves, and walnut transforms into spring green, keeping our booth look fresh while reducing waste,” explained Gwen Weinberg, president and head designer. These modern and innovative tables were manufactured with FSC certified plywood finished with UV cured acrylic, which is completely free of harmful volatile organic compounds.

Three by Three Seattle also continues to use hard-wearing reusable bamboo flooring and only transport trade show materials back to the west coast at most once a year to minimize cross country trucking. This combined with a switch to Benjamin Moore Eco Spec low-VOC low-odor paint, slimmer catalog and flyer designs, and more electronic customer contact make a friendlier, greener exhibit experience.

Mary Burnett, vice-president of sales, sums it up, “We would never miss the opportunity to spend time with our customers, but we always felt guilty about tradeshows’ carbon footprints, especially after our community of Ballard in Seattle pledged to become Carbon Neutral. A green booth design is a great step in the right direction for us, and are excited about other innovations in the works.”

The company’s magnetic strip bulletin board design introduced the magnet board category as it’s known today. In recent years, they revamped the whiteboard industry with fresh, alternative dry-erase surfaces, including bamboo, glass, silicone, and stainless. Their current line consists of dry-erase boards, chalk boards, magnet boards, desk and wall organizers, hooks, and magnets. The design team also creates custom promotional products and has worked with a broad range of clients, including Nike, Starbucks, Herman Miller, Bravo Networks, Nine West, and W Hotels.
