Hob·Knob™ with Three by Three Seattle

Seattle, WA – January 6, 2016 – Rub elbows with Three by Three Seattle’s new hob·knob™ wall pegs! Five solid wood pegs of varying widths and lengths provide a perfect spot for scarves, hats, leashes, and bags. Mounted directly into the wall by embedded screws, the pegs appear to grow organically from their surroundings, elevating the design of any space.

“The hob-knob set offers versatility in both functionality and wall arrangement,” said head designer Gwen Weinberg. “The assorted sizes accommodate varied items, and since each peg mounts separately, the pegs will fit, no matter the size and shape of the available wall space. Even with nothing hanging on them, the finished wood pegs look great on a wall alone as simple wall decor.”

Available in natural wood or with assorted color high-gloss
      lacquer tops.

Three by Three Seattle Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Seattle, WA – January 8, 2015 – It’s time for a birthday: Three by Three Seattle turns 20 in 2015! With plans to revive some old favorites, the company is looking forward to a year of celebration and growth.

Three by Three Seattle began as a high-end stationery business, featuring hand-bound journals with copper and aluminum accents. It was working with metal that first lead co-founders Gwen Weinberg and Anita Nadelson to enter the world of magnets when they created a magnetic picture frame. Prioritizing ingenuity and multi-functionality, the company moved on to routinely revolutionize the market through the next two decades with inventive products like their magnetic strip bulletin board and mighties magnets.

The influence of their early work with metal is still clear today in their sleek, modern alternatives for office and home organization. Always interested in evolving, the design company has also worked on expanding their line to include diverse materials used in unique ways.

“Although our business has evolved far beyond our original product lines, we’ve maintained our core focus on creating innovative and well-designed solutions,” said CEO Anita Nadelson. “What I’m looking forward to the most for our next twenty years is venturing into uncharted territories as we continue to discover new materials and repurpose them creatively and unexpectedly.”

Reflecting on twenty years of a successful business, President and head designer Gwen Weinberg added, “The fact that we have grown our little seed of an idea into an established product design company with worldwide influence is truly remarkable to me.”

Known for impeccable customer service that complements their high-quality products, Three by Three Seattle is respected throughout the industry. Both co-founders agree that what they value most is the excellent reputation of their company: “I’d say we’re more proud of that than any individual product or design.”

Keep it up! Three by Three Seattle wants to get its hooks into you

Seattle, WA – August 1, 2014 – Following on the heels of its popular hook•up! strip mail holder + hooks, Three by Three Seattle has added two new members to its hook•up! organizational family.

“With our strip bulletin boards and magnet hooks, we had a whole range of easy-to-update hanging options for small- to medium-sized accessories and items,” says Mary Burnett, head of sales. “When we released our single hook•up! hooks and hook•up! strip several years ago, those products allowed us to offer customers compact, fixed wall systems for storing mail and hanging larger items.”

You can now get a triple (3-hooks, 9.5” long) or quint (5-hooks, 18” long) hook•up! to help you manage entryways, cluttered rooms and storage areas—anywhere you can use a little extra hanging space. The multi-functional design of the hook•up! line of products lets you securely hold mail or papers behind the top hooks, while coats and bags can be hung from both the top and bottom hooks.

“With the popularity of our hook•up! line, we got a lot of great feedback from customers. We realized we could be helping them organize smarter by giving them more and better tools to plan their space,” says Anita Nadelson, CEO. “After trying out several test configurations, we came up with a couple of new hook•up! variations we think our customers will love.”

The new hook•up! triple and hook•up! quint are available in 8 of Three by Three Seattle’s classic colors.

New Video Shows Three by Three Seattle’s Off-the-Wall Dry-Erase Boards

It’s not what you do, it’s the way you TO-DO it.

Seattle, WA – May 7, 2014 – Three by Three Seattle, a home and office products studio, sees value in showing rather than telling. As a design-forward company, visuals have always been important to them. But it’s the functionality video is able to convey, not just a product’s form, that makes video a vital component in their outreach. The company is currently expanding their video library to highlight their desktop to-do boards.

“When you see our products in use, you immediately know how you’ll be able to utilize them in your own home or office. For a product like the desktop to-do board, we’re demonstrating a tool we invented—a tool that’s not available anywhere else,” says co-founder Anita Nadelson. “We can say, ‘It’s like a memo or note pad, without the paper waste,’ but what does that look like? It’s more helpful to show you how the product can be used.”

In addition, video allows viewers to get a better feel for the product’s materials and how the items are constructed. Says Three by Three Seattle’s video producer Launa Changnon, “This is a company that really cares about design. It’s important to them that their products are well made, well thought-out and beautifully functional. The best way to tell their story is through motion. A static shot is not going to convey the whole story.”

Three by Three Seattle home and office products are aimed at design-conscious consumers across the globe. Their purpose is to spin ordinary organizational products into innovative, efficient designs worthy of display in any contemporary setting. This video is the third in a recent series highlighting new products. Other featured items include their up•date! silicone dry•erase weekly planner and their magnetic glass dry•erase weekly planner.

Three By Three Seattle thinks your walls need to get a (shelf) life

Seattle, WA – January 21, 2013 – Too often, small wall areas are considered unusable, left unadorned or unexploited. Not anymore - Three By Three Seattle’s new compact shelf•life line helps even a small awkward wall space become an organizational tour de force. Available in stainless & 7 colors of powdercoated metal, shelf•life features a 15 inch top shelf, which handily fits bath items, office supplies, kitchen spices, even small art pieces, with a lip to prevent small objects from falling. Photos, cards and recipes are held by a pair of strong rare earth magnets to the magnet board below, while keys and other accessories hang from the included spot•on! mini magnet hook

“The basic idea was a simple shelf solution for small spaces,” says designer Gwen Weinberg. “Following our design credo, we bundled as many organizational features as possible while still maintaining a clean, efficient design. The 15 inch length was specifically chosen to complement our square dot bulletin boards - a useful and striking combination!”

More good news for fans of compact organization - the magnetic glass dry•erase weekly planner has reduced down to a 20 x 5.5 inch figure! This new smaller planner has all the same great family features: shatterproof, tempered glass; non-ghosting dry•erase surface; and 2 strong magnets & metal backing to create a magical magnetic glass effect. The 20 x 5.5 inch line features five new colors in addition to the original white and spring green: red, sky blue, orange, pink, and black. Even in cramped conditions, organizing your week has never been more stylish.

For those looking to make a bigger statement with their weekly organization, make way for the new 18 inch square dry-erase channel panel + planner! The dry-erase surface features silkscreened sections for the days of the week and a large memo area for other notes. The accessories channel below allows you to slide and re-arrange accessories to meet your current organizational needs. Included are 2 stainless hooks, a magnetic stainless strip & 3 strong magnets, and a modern angular pen cup. The channel panel + planner will be available in white and Three By Three Seattle’s exclusive bamboo dry•erase.

Seattle, WA – August 13, 2012 – Like a gold medal gymnast, Three By Three Seattle’s silicone up•date! line (formerly called stick•it, name changed in 2015) has been sticking the landing time and time again onto home and office surfaces. There are 5 new additions to the team:

The up•date!™ to-do board features a lined dry-erase surface for notes and 2 hooks for keys and accessories; the up•date! monthly planner is a much-requested extension of the popular up•date! weekly planner; and the up•date! 3 packs, which include 1 dry•erase board and 2 separate hooks, come in 3 shapes: clouds, dogs, and flowers. Members of the up•date! line can land on any clean, dry, and smooth surface, including glass, mirrors, refrigerators, and smooth doors and walls (hooks work best on non-porous surfaces). With no adhesive or mounting hardware required, an up•date! will always have a soft landing and a graceful take-off.

“Silicone continues to impress us in much the same way as our magnets,” says designer Gwen Weinberg. “It combines adaptability and strength, providing a highly-functional and attractive alternative to traditional organizing solutions. We love the addition of hooks to the up•date! to-do board, so much that we’re offering them as independent elements in the up•date! 3 packs, giving customers functional and aesthetic flexibility in their space. And those hooks really are something else – it’s hard to believe something so seemingly delicate can hold more than 5 pounds!”

In other dry-erase news, the exceedingly popular sort it out! wall caddy family will now be available in red, white, and spring green, in addition to the classic bamboo and stainless styles. Combining the dazzling array of features – including a dry•erase surface, weekly planner, magnetic strip, paper and supply storage, and hooks – with these expanded style options is sure to make a splash this upcoming back-to-school and holiday season.

Finally, the stainless entry butler is upgrading to include a stainless dry•erase surface! It retains the features that made it such a great compact organization center – rear compartments, hooks, magnetic surface – and adds the dry•erase functionality at no additional cost. That’ll score some points with the judges!

Stick it up! Three By Three Seattle says you have the right to be organized

Seattle, WA – March 7, 2012 – Three By Three Seattle, ever scouring the globe for innovative new materials, is proud to introduce their new silicone-based up•date!™ line (formerly called stick•it, name changed in 2015). The new items feature a sticky material that magically adheres to non-porous surfaces such as glass, mirrors, refrigerators, and smooth doors and walls, with no adhesive or mounting hardware required! Up•date! items are also re-usable, allowing them to be removed from one surface and placed on another with no muss, no fuss.

Taking center stage in the new line is the up•date! dry•erase weekly planner, yet another clever alternative to traditional dry•erase boards. Its 14 x 3.5 inch dry•erase surface is divided into seven sections to organize your week. Horizontal and vertical versions allow placement flexibility, and the design of the horizontal planner lends itself to display multiple weeks above and below each other, to allow for planning several weeks at a time. New up•date! dots feature a double-sided sticky surface that allows cards, pens, and even light electronics to stick to the face, while the dot itself sticks to non-porous surfaces.

“Silicone is an amazing material,” opines Three By Three Seattle CEO Anita Nadelson. “Its reusable, self-sticking qualities allow us to solve various organizing problems; it lets us provide an easy way to apply a dry•erase surface to non-magnetic cabinets and fridges, which in the past had few, if any, options. You can even place your weekly planner on a bathroom mirror, if that’s what works for you! Giving customers greater organizational flexibility is right in line with our company vision, and we’re looking forward to exploring our silicone line further - several items are in development even as we speak.”

Silicone is not the only new kid on the block. In fact, there’s even a new block: new color block magnets! These new additions to the flexible rubber magnet line feature bright colorful squares of different sizes with an odd circle or two thrown in for a little bit of spice. In addition, many beloved shapes from the shape-up metal magnet line have limbered up and are also joining the flexible magnet line: kitty magnets, puppy magnets, birdie magnets and flower magnets in sets of 4; star magnets and heart magnets in sets of 9.

This menagerie of new magnets will be available in a variety of different colors and is expected to be a big hit for the upcoming back-to-school season.

Snap To It, There’s Much To•Do

Seattle, WA – January 23, 2012 – Three By Three Seattle is not just dipping its toe into the ceramic magnets sea, but is diving head first with a splash of color. Their new line of snap!™ strong magnets is made of strong ferrite magnet and is available with brushed stainless or bright powdercoated color shells, punctuating any metal surface with a bold disc-shaped statement. They are ideal for Three By Three Seattle’s line of magnetic glass dry•erase boards, firmly holding flyers, postcards, photos to the surface and complementing the boards’ sleek, bright tones.

“Snap! magnets were initially sold only with our best-selling magnetic glass dry•erase boards, but customers were clamoring for extras and different colors,” explains VP of sales Mary Burnett.  “This overwhelming response naturally led us to sell them as a stand-alone product, and there’s nothing we love more than offering affordable and strong magnets with a pleasing visual impact. More and more people are using home & office products not just as functional objects, but also as a decorative accent, and snap! magnets perfectly embody this trend.”

Colorful new additions have also been made to the popular desktop dry•erase to•do board line: red, plum, spring green, pink, and stainless join the classic bamboo and silver styles. The stainless version comes with a built-in letter pocket feature, adding even more functionality to the board’s paperless, re-writable surface.

Three By Three Seattle Sorts Out Your Dry•Erase Needs

Seattle, WA – August 12, 2011 – Say goodbye to the plain old whiteboard! Three by Three Seattle is adding ten new products to their dry•erase family. First up: the magnetic stainless dry•erase board features a real stainless steel dry-erase surface, and joins their much acclaimed bamboo dry•erase line as a sophisticated alternative to the boring whiteboard. The 23.5 x 15 inch board allows ample room for lists and notes, and comes with large magnets for posting photos, flyers, and cards.

“Not satisfied with just one new alternative to traditional whiteboards, Three by Three Seattle is also adding a magnetic glass dry•erase line. These sleek boards feature a dry•erase surface that doesn't ghost and is made with shatterproof, tempered glass. Metal backing creates a seemingly magical magnetic glass effect, allowing photos and cards to be posted to the surface. They come in three varieties: square boards in two sizes; memo boards, which are divided into 8 silkscreened sections enabling customized organizing styles (by name, date, task...); and weekly planners, with 7 silkscreened sections each labeled with a weekday, giving you plenty of room to plan your week.

“We're always interested in exploring new dry•erase surfaces,” says CEO Anita Nadelson. “Adding stainless and glass dry-erase to our line will give our customers some more options for people wanting to get away from ugly whiteboards. We couldn't be happier about it!”

Don't worry, bamboo has not been neglected! The new sort it out! wall caddy features Three by Three Seattle's exclusive real bamboo dry-erase surface and has more organizational features per square inch than any other product in their line. The efficient sort it out! measures 22.5 x 5 inches and features a silkscreened weekly planner; 3 rear compartments for magazines, mail, phones, and pens; 3 hooks for keys, coats, bags; and 2 strong magnets for posting cards and photos to the magnetic strip.

Following the great success of the color dots brights, the company has added to their silkscreened flexible magnet line. The new color bars magnets round out Three by Three Seattle's new additions; featuring the same bright colors and strong rubber magnet as the color dots brights, these new bars have a long rectangular shape and create new graphic possibilities on fridges and magnet boards. Surround your friends brights, a classic product with a color facelift, highlight the important parts of photos with even more emphasis!

Last but not least, Three by Three Seattle's core products are sporting new colors. Lilac and plum are now available in magnetic strip bulletin boards, mini strip bulletin boards, spot-on! magnet hooks and spot-on! mini magnet hooks. In addition, the magazine pocket is now available in pink, and the square dot bulletin boards are now available in spring green.

Three By Three Seattle – The Shape Of Things To Come

Seattle, WA – August 11, 2010 – Bored metal surfaces rejoice -- Three By Three Seattle’s new shape-up!™ strong magnets are here! These 3.75 x 4.5” brushed stainless steel cats, dogs, and arrows not only add a playful yet sophisticated flair to any fridge or filing cabinet, but their large size and full magnetic coverage on the back provide super strong holding power. Three By Three Seattle Keeping Tabs On Your Desktop

Seattle, WA – July 26, 2010 – No, it’s not a scary Big Brother initiative, but rather a new big brother to Three By Three Seattle’s popular desktop to•do board - the dry•erase desktop tablet! The tablet features a 10 x 9” dry•erase surface, which makes it almost twice as large as the to•do board, allowing the user to take more extensive meeting notes or flesh out ideas and designs. Like its predecessor, the tablet is a paperless, eco-friendly note-taking option, and also has a stand (removable for easy portability) for more convenient viewing and writing.

“The idea for the desktop tablet arose quite naturally from the success of the to•do board,” says Head Designer Gwen Weinberg. “People appreciated the bamboo material, clean design, and environmentally-friendly aspects, but some felt that the writing surface was a bit too small for their needs. The tablet gives them that larger option while keeping everything else they love about the original.”

In addition, the desktop to•do board, which was first offered in real bamboo only, will now be available in a sleek metallic silver color. “Our silver dry•erase is a beautiful, subtle finish,” says Anita Nadelson, CEO. “It was very well-received in our 4x11 dry•erase magnet board, and we expect it to be a hit in our desktop line as well.”

The silver desktop to•do board and the desktop tablet, which also comes in both silver and bamboo, will be available in October.

Three By Three Seattle Gets On Board

Seattle, WA – May 12, 2010 – Three By Three Seattle knows when to hang on to a good idea - their new hang on board™! This 12” square board incorporates several tried and true features, including a magnetic dry•erase surface, strong magnets for posting photos, and three built-in hooks for keys, scarves, utensils, etc. The hang on board fills the size and cost gap in Three By Three Seattle's dry•erase line, between the 4x11” dry•erase magnet board and the larger wall panels. The multi-functionality of this new board lets it adapt well to a variety of environments, allowing posted recipes and hanging spatulas in the kitchen as well as dangling keys and penned homework reminders in the bedroom.

The hang on board will be available early- to mid- summer and comes in white, spring green, silver, and real bamboo (which features a patent-pending bamboo dry•erase surface).

“We were getting bombarded with requests for a larger version of our 4x11 boards,” explains Mary Burnett, VP of Sales. “The 12 x 12” hang on board is a great way to fill that need, while still offering a competitive price point that will be perfect for the back-to-school season. It combines several successful elements - the magnets, hooks, dry•erase, and bamboo - and puts them together in an elegant, functional design. Get on board and hang on tight, these boards will take you places!”

      January 22, 2010

The Panel Has Spoken: Bamboo Dry•Erase Wins Big!

Seattle, WA – January 22, 2010 – Sometimes it's good to think big, which is exactly what Three by Three Seattle has done with its new bamboo dry•erase wall panels. Coming off the success of their entry butler and 4x11 inch magnet board, both of which are made with a patent-pending bamboo dry•erase surface, it was clear that a larger, wall-mounted piece would fill a much-needed niche in the marketplace.

“There's certainly no shortage of large dry-erase boards out there,” notes head designer Gwen Weinberg. “However, we could not find one that had any design elements worthy of display in an otherwise well-designed room. Our mission was to create a large, functional board which would really work as a piece of furniture, complementing its environment. Something that takes up this much room on a wall deserves to have aesthetic appeal!”

The wall panels come in two styles: the bare panel and the channel panel. The bare panels can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and the small panel has a hidden pocket above for papers and mail. The channel panels come with a variety of stainless steel accessories that slide in and out of the exclusive channel system tucked behind the front panel, allowing for easy reorganizing as the need occurs. A magnetic strip posts notes and photos, a bamboo pen cup sits in a stainless holder, a letter holder holds mail, and the hooks support scissors, keys, tools… The accessories can also be removed quickly when more writing space is needed.

Perhaps the biggest selling point continues to be the borderless patent-pending bamboo dry-erase surface, which gives the panels a distinct look that immediately set them apart. “People are absolutely in love with the bamboo dry-erase material and kept requesting something bigger than the 4x11 inch board,” explains Mary Burnett, vice president of sales. “Combining that beautiful surface with a large multi-functional wall organizer was a no-brainer.”

The grass looks greener on the Three by Three Seattle side

Seattle, WA – February 2, 2008 - Three by Three Seattle is proud to announce a modern environmental makeover to its trade show booths at New York International Gift Fair and Chicago International Housewares Show. New cutting edge collapsible plywood displays combine with bamboo flooring and Eco Spec paint to create a booth friendly to customers and the world as a whole.

Among the innovations are light knock-down booth displays, which cut the carbon footprint of shipping trade show materials by over 50%. “I designed the furniture to keep with our modern aesthetic, but also to be double sided and versatile. Tables to turn into bookshelves, and walnut transforms into spring green, keeping our booth look fresh while reducing waste,” explained Gwen Weinberg, president and head designer. These modern and innovative tables were manufactured with FSC certified plywood finished with UV cured acrylic, which is completely free of harmful volatile organic compounds.

Three by Three Seattle also continues to use hard-wearing reusable bamboo flooring and only transport trade show materials back to the west coast at most once a year to minimize cross country trucking. This combined with a switch to Benjamin Moore Eco Spec low-VOC low-odor paint, slimmer catalog and flyer designs, and more electronic customer contact make a friendlier, greener exhibit experience.

Mary Burnett, vice-president of sales, sums it up, “We would never miss the opportunity to spend time with our customers, but we always felt guilty about tradeshows’ carbon footprints, especially after our community of Ballard in Seattle pledged to become Carbon Neutral. A green booth design is a great step in the right direction for us, and are excited about other innovations in the works.”

Three by Three Seattle Gets a New Hook-up

Seattle, WA – January 27, 2006 – Three by Three Seattle introduced their hook•up™ hooks, a new product line which accompanies their Spot•on!™ hooks introduced in August 2005. The hook•up™ mail holder + hook and the hook•up™ strip + mail holder + hook will be the first products in the collection presented at trade shows in New York City and Paris in January 2006.

The hook•up™ line is an extension of Three by Three’s popular spot•on!™ and Wall Control lines. “We wanted to redesign the simple things people take for granted and remind them that multi-functional design and reasonable prices do not preclude style and innovation,” explained Gwen Weinberg, co-owner and Head Designer at Three by Three Seattle. This was beautifully accomplished with the single hook•up™ mail holder + hook and the triple hook•up™ strip + mail holder + hook, whose innovative hook also securely holds mail and other papers behind it. In addition, the hook•up™ strip + mail holder + hook incorporates the company’s most successful product, the magnetic strip bulletin board.

Also coming out this month is the much anticipated spot•on!™ MINI magnet hooks. “After the great success of the colorful larger spot•on!™ magnet hooks, how could we not scale them down for smaller items?” asked Mary Burnett, Vice-President of Sales at Three by Three.

Seattle, WA – May 10, 2005 – Three by Three Seattle introduced the “Slott” system, a new Desk Control product line which accompanies their already well-received line of magnetic wall organizers. The Desktop Cradles, Stackable Paper Tray, and Upright Organizer will be the first products in the collection presented at trade shows in New York City and London mid May 2005.

The Desk Control line is an extension of Three by Three Seattle’s popular Wall Control line. “Space is often limited in today’s work and home offices,” states Gwen Weinberg, Head Designer and co-owner of the company, “creating multi-functional, area-efficient products that work together is essential.”

Always looking for new design methods, Weinberg created a patent-pending notch system giving Three by Three Seattle’s new line of products a perfect fit. “My designs are based on natural principles, the most important determinant being the product’s purpose. While construction is significant, the ability to do more using less is imperative.”
